Thermal Energy Metering

Thermal energy metering

Around 70% of the total energy required by the house is used to heat the rooms and produce hot sanitary water. Factors like the growth pattern of the fuel prices and its limited availability, the strong dependence on foreign sources for energy supply and the compulsory need to reduce polluting emissions should convince everybody as to the need of awareness in the use of resources.

There are many areas of intervention on the systems in which you can reach considerable energy savings without compromises on our comfort and safety: one of the most important and up-to-date is heat energy metering.

To meet the requirements in the field of metering, Giacomini created a full range of solutions that includes modules and utility satellites for the direct metering of heat energy in systems with zone distribution. The GE555 modules directly measure the thermal heating energy, as well as that of conditioning and sanitary water in the central production systems.

Also GE556 satellites are available for those situations in which the production of hot sanitary water has to be made locally at a single utility, thanks to the heat exchanger integrated in the satellite. All Giacomini’s metering modules and satellites are fit with compact metering devices complying with MID Directive (2004/22/CE) and prearranged for the communication according to the M-Bus standard (EN 1434-3).
