Hotel Titilaka

A hospitality project set in an extreme natural environment

On the southeastern shores of Lake Titicaca, at an altitude of around 3,800 meters, stands Titilaka, a boutique hotel located on a private four‑acre peninsula shared exclusively with the Aymara community.

Surrounded on three sides by the lake’s waters and immersed in the Andean landscape, the hotel features 18 panoramic rooms, spacious terraces, and common areas dedicated to dining and relaxation, offering guests an exclusive stay in close contact with nature.

The area where the property is located is characterized by particularly challenging climatic conditions, with strong temperature fluctuations and cold nights. In such an isolated setting, system design requires technological solutions that are reliable, efficient, and capable of ensuring maximum comfort without altering the balance of the surrounding environment.

Radiant heating for comfort and efficiency

To meet these needs, Giacomini contributed to the hotel’s heating system by providing an underfloor heating solution, the ideal choice to ensure thermal comfort and an even distribution of heat throughout the spaces.

The radiant system makes it possible to maintain comfortable indoor temperatures even during the cold nights of the Peruvian highlands, while ensuring efficient operation and optimized energy consumption.

Among the main products used in the project:

  • Preformed graphite‑enhanced EPS insulating panel

  • Normally‑closed electrothermal actuator

  • Pre‑assembled brass manifold kit

This configuration enables precise system control and balanced heat distribution throughout the hotel, helping create a warm and comfortable environment for guests.

Radiant technology for sustainable hospitality

The Titilaka project is a significant example of how radiant solutions can enhance the quality of hospitality even in extreme geographical settings.

Thanks to uniform heat distribution and high energy efficiency, the underfloor heating system combines indoor comfort with environmental responsibility, fully aligned with the hotel’s sustainable approach.

Over the years, the hotel has received several international awards, including the Travellers’ Choice Award in 2014, establishing itself as a benchmark for high‑quality hospitality in one of South America’s most remarkable natural landscapes.
