Our story

Our story begins and is rooted deep in our territory, the Cusio area, where Alberto Giacomini started his business more than 70 years ago and his family is still leading the Giacomini Group.

1950

Alberto Giacomini starts producing small brass components in 1951, using a manual lathe bought with great sacrifices. A few years later, he moves his business to a much larger plant of the “town of faucets”, San Maurizio d’Opaglio, province of Novara. From here starts our journey of unceasing growth, thanks to the development of innovative products and systems and his pioneering vision of marketing them abroad.

  1950

1960

After a successful decade, in 1961 our first German subsidiary is established in Waldrbrol, in the country considered the most technologically advanced at the time. In 1968 we become the first company of the sector to include a quality assurance lab dedicated to production, functional inspection of products and, most of all, research and innovation. During the same year we receive the Academy Award for Export, which celebrates our sale activities in the US.

1960

1970

Our commercial success together with the awards for quality and innovation are followed by a structural growth: in 1972, the molding plant of Castelnuovo del Garda, in the province of Verona, becomes part of the Giacomini Group. Our corporation structure evolves as well: in 1974 we become a Joint Stock Company, and in the same period we take another important step, turning from a company that produces single components to a supplier that also provides integrated systems.

1970

1980

In the early ‘80s we launch a range of valves with thermostatic option and thermostatic heads called Programma 80,  which enables us to successfully promote our brand among a broader public, with innovative promotional campaigns that communicate the revolutionary option of easily controlling the indoor temperature of radiator-heated rooms thanks to automatic regulation.
In 1986 we obtain the BSI certification which confirms and celebrates our company policy of maintaining and constantly improving quality through formal processes.

1980

1990

With the Giacomini Consulting project, we start offering specialized training services dedicated to distributors and installers, in addition to supporting designers through technical assistance and dedicated software solutions.

In 1994, we create the Plastic Material Division in the industrial district of San Maurizio d'Opaglio, for in-house production of technopolymer pipes and components. Our "plastic factory" occupies 35,000 mof a building designed according to the most advanced architectonical criteria.

1990

2000

In 2001, to celebrate our 50th anniversary and based on an initiative by the Giacomini family, we open a Daycare Nursery-School for our employees’ children, with the pedagogic coordination of  Reggio Children of Reggio Emilia.

In 2006, for the Winter Olympic Games of Turin, we are invited to expose the cutting-edge hydrogen-fueled boiler project, designed by Giacomini’s R&D division, at Casa Italia.

In 2007, we extend our historical plant of San Maurizio d’Opaglio with a new structure designed according to the most advanced criteria to protect the environment where people live every day and their wellbeing. This modern production unit is provided with geothermal heat pumps that feed radiant, solar, thermal and photovoltaic systems with a high level of automation for internal logistics and processes.

2000

2010

The Giacomini family’s third generation takes the reins of the Group:  Elia Filiberti and Valentina Giacomini become Managing Directors. This is the time when they also strengthen our management structure by hiring excellence professional figures coming from multinational contests for other key roles in our organization.

During this period, we also consolidate our relationship with all stakeholders through the "Qualified Retailers” project dedicated to distribution, the "Giacomini Project" events for planners and the "Giacomini Awards", winning moments where we meet our main international Partners.

Present and future of the Giacomini Group

The Giacomini Group just turned 70 and keeps looking to a future revolving around energy efficiency, with installation solutions aimed at always offering the best living comfort, mostly through sustainable sources.

The introduction of hydronic balancing through cutting-edge technologies in traditionally simple components (such as radiator valves and distribution manifolds) materially proves our continuous innovation in combining energy saving, comfort and sustainability.

Our sensibility to such matters is also confirmed by our researches in the hydrogen field: by partnering up with prestigious research centers for multiple international projects, we commit to find "CO2 zero-emission” versatile solutions, in high demand for the residential sector.
