The Shard London

Designed by architect Renzo Piano and inaugurated in 2012, The Shard is one of London’s most iconic landmarks and one of the most recognisable skyscrapers in Europe. Standing 309 metres tall with 72 habitable floors, the tower was conceived as a true “vertical city”, bringing together offices, residences, a hotel, restaurants and retail spaces within a single building.

Among The Shard’s most renowned attractions is The View from The Shard, the observation deck located on the upper floors of the tower, offering visitors a 360° view across the British capital.

It is within this panoramic area that 240 m² of Giacomini underfloor heating system was installed, providing a solution designed to ensure comfort and energy efficiency in an environment characterised by extensive glazed surfaces and changing climatic conditions.

The radiant system contributes to maintaining an even distribution of heat, while also ensuring a high level of quietness and discreet integration within the architectural space.

A technological solution that fits seamlessly into a highly complex architectural environment, contributing to user comfort and the overall sustainability of the building.

At The Shard, technology and architecture come together to create a comfortable experience worthy of one of the most iconic landmarks of contemporary London.
