From the bracelet that adopts a whale to the stories imagined by children: “A Project Among the Waves” combines play, education, and sustainability, becoming a symbol of our commitment to people, nature, and the future.
The Giacomini Nursery-School, active since 2003, is much more than a company service: it is a place designed for employees’ children, where they can grow in an authentic, welcoming, and relational environment.
It was precisely in this context that “A Project Among the Waves” was born: an educational journey capable of turning a small gesture into an extraordinary adventure. It all began with the purchase of a solidarity bracelet that allowed the adoption of a real whale, named Max, and the chance to follow its movements in real time through an app.
A Whale Named Max
The adoption of Max immediately sparked the children’s imagination, encouraging empathy and a sense of responsibility. His adventures across the oceans became the subject of tales, guesses, and shared stories: one day, when his position was no longer traceable, the children began imagining reasons for his absence, enriching the project further with creativity and storytelling.
Thus, education, play, and environmental awareness intertwined in a journey that gave rise to drawings, stories, and activities capable of leaving a tangible mark on the children’s growth and on the school community.
The Thread That Becomes a Wave
We chose to make “A Project Among the Waves” the guiding thread of our first Sustainability Report because it authentically represents the deepest meaning of our commitment. The bracelet adopted by children becomes a symbol of connection: between people and nature, between education and responsibility, between present and future.
All the drawings accompanying the document were created by the children of the Nursery-School, proving how imagination and creativity can enrich company culture and nurture our vision of sustainability (Sustainability Section).
Small Gestures, Big Vision
“A Project Among the Waves” is a concrete example of how even the simplest actions can generate profound change, becoming an integral part of our social responsibility.
Educating children today means building a more aware, inclusive, and environmentally respectful future. This is the message we want to carry forward: sustainability is a journey made together, step by step, wave after wave, piece by piece.
