In a significant milestone for the esteemed Italian brand, Giacomini has been officially registered as a historical trademark by the Italian Government this June. This recognition, marked by registration number 757, places Giacomini among Italy's most distinguished companies, highlighting its over 70 years of continuous operation and contribution to Italian industrial excellence.
The designation of Giacomini as a historical trademark is part of an initiative by MIMIT (Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy) to honour companies that have demonstrated sustained excellence and have become symbols of Italian creativity, culture, and innovation. Companies achieving this status must provide evidence of 50 years of continuous use of their trademark, a testament to their enduring presence and impact in their respective industries.
Celebrating a legacy of innovation and quality
The recognition as a historical trademark allows Giacomini to utilize the national historic trademark alongside its own brand for commercial and promotional purposes. This prestigious stamp not only underscores the company’s historical significance but also enhances its market image, aligning it with the excellence of Italian manufacturing and the globally recognized "Made in Italy" brand.
Giacomini's journey began in 1954 when it was first registered as "Giacomini Alberto Rubinetteria e Torneria Metalli". Over the decades, Giacomini has evolved from its origins, continuously innovating and expanding its product range while maintaining a steadfast commitment to quality and sustainability. The company’s historical documents, such as the first receipt, draft price lists, technical drawings, and brochures from various periods, reflect this rich heritage.
Giacomini's strategic initiatives and future plans
Simultaneously, upon enrolling in the UIBM Registry, Giacomini also joined the Association of Historical Trademarks of Italy. The purpose of this association is "to promote at all levels the strategic importance of historical Italian trademarks and to leverage them as a tool for enhancing the competitiveness and internationalization of the country.
In celebration of this historic achievement, Giacomini has outlined a series of strategic initiatives to leverage its new status. The company plans to integrate the historical mark into various business materials, including corporate profiles, videos, email signatures, letterheads, product flyers, and catalogs. A comprehensive go-live campaign is scheduled for the week of July 22, 2024, complemented by an internal training webinar on July 10, 2024.
Giacomini’s initiatives also extend to broader cultural and promotional activities. The company will participate in special openings during National Made in Italy Day, allowing the public to explore its facilities and learn about its storied past. A testimonial campaign will feature stories and values from the company’s leadership, and the "Amerigo Vespucci - The Italian Iconic Brands" journey will showcase Giacomini in 31 stops across 28 countries by 2025.

Giacomini’s registration as a historical trademark not only honors its legacy but also contributes to the broader effort to protect and promote Italy’s industrial heritage. The Italian Historical Trademarks Association, which represents companies with historical trademarks, aims to enhance the prestige of Italian products and support the international competitiveness of these brands.
